I really think this is a good start - you have some really nice high resolution images there (which is the key to good visuals with digital storytelling (get as much quality as you can in the original image and you can really zoom in without it pixelating))
I like some of the slides with text attached though when you are zooming I would have a tendency to try and keep the text on the screen or start with it off the edge and zoom and pan to it (if that makes sense) or vice versa. Rather than losing some of the sentence off the edge as you zoom.
A lot of it is about playing with the effects. I think it is great - nice topic and some great images to play with.
